Barnabas Aid is an international aid agency that gives practical support to Christians in contexts of persecution, poverty and hunger. The ministry was founded in 1993 with a focus on believers suffering discrimination for their faith. Since then Barnabas has funded projects in more than 100 countries, providing hope and help to millions of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Some of our key projects include Bibles and Scriptures, food aid, medical supplies, education and vocational training, disaster relief, help for victims of violence, and support for pastors and church leaders.

What will you be doing:

Barnabas Aid is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual for the role of Head of Campaigns, a critical position within our International Outreach Department. The post-holder will lead the development and delivery of impactful campaigns, aimed at raising awareness, prayer, and vital donations for the charity’s work with persecuted Christians worldwide. The Head of Campaigns will be responsible for key initiatives such as the Barnabas Brekkie/Breakfast campaign, as well as major supporter events like Encourage. In addition, they will focus on key fundraising activities, ensuring high levels of supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention.

This is a new and exciting role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape the future of Barnabas Aid's fundraising and supporter relations strategy. The role requires close collaboration with the Head of Communications, the Philanthropy Manager, and the Living Streams Officer, and will involve working alongside the National Directors of our Regional Offices around the world to ensure campaign strategies are effectively adapted to local contexts.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Lead Campaign Development

    • Develop and implement creative and effective fundraising campaigns, including the Barnabas Brekkie/Breakfast initiative
    • Develop and implement other key activities to raise awareness, prayer and funds.
  • Supporter Acquisition & Retention

    • Develop strategies to acquire new supporters and donors, while also focusing on the retention of existing supporters, ensuring ongoing engagement and a deepening of commitment to Barnabas Aid’s mission.
  • Campaign Management

    • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising campaigns across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective donor engagement
  • Budget & Target Management

    • Manage campaign budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet fundraising targets.

    • Regularly report on performance to International Chief Outreach Officer and Senior Leadership team of adapting appropriate strategies as necessary to optimise results.

  • Team Leadership

    • Lead and support the Campaigns Team which includes the Philanthropy Manager and Living Streams Officer, ensuring they are equipped to meet their objectives and contribute effectively to broader organisational and campaign goals.

    • Cross-Department Collaboration Leadership

  • Work closely with the Head of Communications and their team to ensure consistent, compelling messaging across all campaigns.

    • International Coordination Leadership

    • Work collaboratively with the National Directors of our Regional Offices to ensure campaign strategies are culturally relevant and impactful in each region.

    • Provide guidance on adapting campaigns for local contexts to maximise effectiveness.

  • Event Management

    • Lead on the coordination of major supporter events such as Encourage, ensuring they are impactful, well-executed, and generate tangible support for Barnabas Aid’s work and fundraising efforts
  • Donor Engagement

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, encouraging deeper involvement and sustained support through tailored communication and engagement strategies.
  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Track campaign effectiveness through regular reporting and analysis, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement, using the data to inform future campaign strategies
  • Travel

    • Occasional national travel to meet with Regional Coordinators and attend speaking events, alongside some international travel to visit the charity's projects in the field and see the impact of campaigns first-hand.

There is an occupational requirement for applicants to be practising Christians, who are engaged in their local church, in order to be able to carry out our roles.
