Your love and compassion needed in war-torn D. R. Congo

11 April 2025

Your compassion is the force that can counteract the grinding hardship now facing our brothers and sisters.

Believers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are living through what humanitarian experts have termed “one of the most protracted and complex humanitarian crises in the world”.

An escalation in violence means that hundreds – possibly thousands – have been killed in north-eastern DRC in the first three months of 2025.

Christians in D. R. Congo have suffered violence, Islamist terrorism, hunger and poverty for many years

Tens of thousands have been forced to flee their homes to escape the deadly wave of terror. Now they are without even the most basic necessities.

They have suffered brutality at the hands of men of violence. Now they can experience love and care from the hearts of their Christian family – love and care from you.

Barnabas project partners are working to provide food and other essentials to those left homeless by the relentless violence.

Some of the displaced people have found a place of refuge in disused school classrooms. Others don’t even have the benefit of this basic level of accommodation

The world may have forgotten about the hungry and the suffering in DRC. But you haven’t.

Will you pray for the safety and success of our partners who are ministering to the needy? Will you give to ensure that displaced Christians get the practical help they so urgently need?

Thank you for your amazing, prayerful support. We give all the glory to our Lord for what He is doing through His people, who are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).

How you can pray

Father God, we pray for our brothers and sisters in DRC, who have suffered so much for so many years. Please provide for their urgent humanitarian needs. Please bless the work of Barnabas Aid’s project partners, working in much danger and hardship. We ask in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in DRC, for the sake of all those affected by so much violence and turmoil.
