Emergency relief boxes for Lebanese Christians

25 October 2024

“It is our duty to support those who have lost everything.”

These were the words of a Barnabas Aid project partner in Lebanon, a country being torn apart by the widening Middle East conflict.

Lebanon’s Christians are suffering the consequences of a war that they did nothing to start and have no way of ending.

Cold and hunger

Historic Christian lands in southern Lebanon are at the centre of the fighting. Tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters have fled the region to seek safety in Lebanon’s north-west.

Whole families have made the dangerous and difficult journey north. They have left behind homes that have been in their families for generations. They have abandoned farm lands and church buildings.

Many Christians are among the displaced families who have nowhere to stay

Others have left behind their homes and livelihoods in Beirut, the capital city, which is under regular bombardment.

Crucially, they now have no means of supporting themselves. Cold and hunger will follow trauma.

You can help

Churches, ministries and Christian communities are doing what they can to meet the needs of the displaced. But they need your help.

Could you provide an emergency relief box for a Christian family who have no other means of provision?

If you have already donated, could you please continue to pray for Lebanese believers in the midst of a worsening humanitarian disaster?

How you can help

£16.50 ($20; €18) could pay for an emergency relief box containing essential food items (including bulgar wheat, broad beans, pasta, meat, tuna, cheese, milk, flour, salt and cooking oil) as well as hygiene items, a copy of the New Testament and a Bible-based colouring book for children.
