War and anti-Christian violence are on the rise in many African countries. In parts of Nigeria, Christian lives and livelihoods are being destroyed by terrorists on a vast scale.
Natural disasters
Natural disasters and weather extremes cause drought and floods... failed crops... hunger. So do diseases and pests, like the recent plague of locusts in East Africa.
Displacement
In sub-Saharan Africa, the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Christians has reached alarming levels. Within refugee camps, the rise of disease, hunger, and the disturbing prevalence of sexual exploitation among women and girls is becoming prevalent.
Sadly these situations leave Christian communities in a state of perpetual vulnerability and susceptible to manipulation.
