Barnabas Aid has provided urgently needed food and practical aid to 150 Christian families (about 1,150 individuals) displaced by the civil war in Sudan.

The conflict, which began in April 2023, has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises of recent years.

The families we reached were among thousands of civilians taking refuge on the border between Sudan and South Sudan.

Barnabas-funded food was distributed to 150 Christian families in desperate need.

“Our situation is very difficult,” said Manara, a mother who fled fighting in Darfur with her three children. Her husband had one of his legs amputated as a result of the violence and was unable to travel with them.

“We don’t know when the fighting will end,” added Manara. “But I am so grateful to receive this support.”

Barnabas supplied hungry Christians with food including lentils, flour, and cooking oil. We also distributed clothes, mosquito nets, sleeping mats, and roofing sheets.

“Without emergency support from Barnabas Aid, there would have been little hope for the refugees we reached,” commented our project partner.

There are no exact figures, but tens of thousands have been killed in the ongoing conflict. More than seven million have been internally displaced, more than two million have fled the country, and millions are suffering from disease and malnutrition.

Pray for the tens of thousands who are suffering as a result of the civil war in Sudan, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. Ask that their needs will be met. Pray for an end to the devastating conflict.
