Why do you run weekly appeals? Do they only run for a week? Shouldn’t you be focusing on one project, completing it, and then moving on to something else?
The short answer to these questions is: because the need is so great for persecuted and suffering Christians around the world.

Our brothers and sisters denied opportunities for schooling or employment in Pakistan.
These are just three among many examples.
In a world marked by so much adversity and hardship, Barnabas Aid is committed to its mission to bring hope to suffering Christians in these harsh contexts.
The frequency of our appeals reflects the scale of the need. We are driven to raise awareness of the suffering Church through our weekly appeals, and to provide aid and rebuild lives with the help of our faithful and generous supporters.

Doing good to the family of believers
While we publish an appeal each week, you can donate to any of our active projects at any time via our Donate page. In a typical year we support 300-400 projects in around 50 different countries.
The sheer scale of persecution and suffering in many parts of the world is the reason why we run so many projects at a single time. The need is often urgent and acute. The work of doing good to “the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10) requires this large-scale response.
We have many processes to ensure that the money and resources so graciously entrusted to us are used wisely. If you donate to Barnabas Aid you can have confidence that your gift will accomplish the purpose for which you gave it.
The power of prayer
We are fully dependent on your donations to fulfil our calling to provide help for the suffering and persecuted brothers and sisters of Christ.
Yet our appeals are not just about raising money. We treasure the prayers of our supporters on behalf of the suffering Church, knowing that the prayers of Christians are “powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
If circumstances keep you from being able to donate to our appeal, or if you have already made a donation to us, then we certainly do not want to pressure you into making a gift. But we can all pray, knowing that ours is a God who both hears and answers prayer.
